From the Garden to Golgotha God is Gracious

Judah is a Lion's Whelp
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord and who shall dwell in his Holy Place?
Grace and Truth
In Romans 5:20 We are told "moreover, the Law entered that the offense might abound.:"
God's Strategic Move
This was a master strategic move of God. After extricating Abraham from the land of Ur and trying for 450 years God decided it was time to give them laws.
In the earlier verses we learn that by one man's offense death reigned. Also by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin and so death pass upon all men. We all know who that one man is.
But Adam's offense was not the only offense. The free gift was for many offenses. The Bible says death reigned from Adam to Moses even upon those who did not sin after the similitude of Adam's transgression. Even upon man who did not sin like Adam did, death reigned.
The simlitude of Adam's Transgression
You did not have to sin like Adam to be a sinner, Or for death to reign over you, Adam's sin was a deliberate disobedience to God;s Law.
Take a man like Lamech, In Gen. 4:23 he said And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.
Sin multiplied on the face of the earth and it hurt God immensely but in this pre-law condition it was left to their conscience to tell them this was wrong.
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

Then the Law entered that the offense might abound,

It was added because of transgression till the seed come to whom the promise was made.

What did Jesus Bring

Obviously, the addition of the Law had a duration. It was to serve its purpose for a period of time. Till the seed come to whom the promise was made. That seed was Jesus Christ. Therefore the scripture says "Thw Law was given by Moses but Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ". What did Jesus bring to the table?
The Law entered that the offense might aboud. The Law was like a light shining in a dark place. It showed men their hopeless deplorable state but could not save them. For what the Law could not do, because it was weak through the flesh, God sending his only Son in the likeness of sin and for Sin condemned sin in the flesh that the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us.

As Jesus walked this earth he confronted sin with the Grace of God. So we hear him saying:
Niether do I condemn thee - Go and sin no more.
He confronted Mess with Mercy and condemnation with compassion so that the rankest sinner can come boldly bdefore the throne of Grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need,
Truth
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
