Don't Uncover Your Sister's Nakedness Lev.18:9

He had seen his sister all her life. Some would say it wasn't his real sister, it was his half sister. I don't know what's a half sister. I've never seen half of a sister, have you? A sister is a sister is a sister is a sister. But to be exact he and she had the same father but not the same mother. Now Amin was the firstborn son. He had rights and power. He was a few years older than Tamer. She must have been a beautiful, attractive young lady, in her late teens. Amin, a young man may hav been in his mid twenties, he had seen her grow up. A little toddler in their father's house. He himself being fairly promiscuous. His father was accustomed to changing women like clothes. He had seen his father commit adultery and impregnate a woman whose husband worked for him and then he turned around and slew the man and married his wife. These things have effect on children. So Amin was acquainted with sexual indiscretions in the family lineage. In fact one of his half brothers Solo by name was a product of that unholy union.
It is imaginable that as Tamar wound her way through the corridors of that home that Amin secretly admired her and desired her in his heart. The saviour would have said he committed adultery in his heart. It is an established fact that bigger brothers sexually abuse their younger sister. What caused this lust in his heart to grow - who knows? Could have been family history. Reminds one of the scripture "Every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lusts and enticed".
It got so bad that he fell ill and took the advice of his foolish cousin Shema to entice Tamer to his bedroom. Innocent Tamer, she was a virgin as most young ladies in Israel were, thought she was carrying food for her sick brother, but when he had her alone he surprised her with "Let us have sex". Though she protested, he was a strong young man, stronger than she was, and he forced her. Immediately after committing this heinous crime he disgusted her and dismissed her. The embarassed young lady being thus violated was forced to retreat in shame, recoil in disgrace and live the rest of her life in desolation. There are many today living wth the stain and stigma of this kind of violation. We must protect our children

You are called in.
1. What could Amin have done to avoid this disgraceful act?

2. Could the young lady have avoided it? Is there a lesson in this for parents?
3. How would you counsel Tamer so that she can resume a productive life?
4. Is there a place in the sanctuary for Amon? If yes, how could he get there? If no why, not?
