The Psalmist declared: Psalm 24:3 Who shall ascend onto the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His Holy Place?
Why this Text
The Bible declares in Gen. 6:5-8 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagining of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the Lord repented that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him in His heart. 7 And the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, and the creeping thing and the fowls of the air, for I repent that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. And I was amazed that in the midst of God’s regret and grief of heart for having made man, and his decision to destroy man he still had grace available for those who were worthy of it. Adam was found worthy of the Grace of God. I thought that despite the wickedness of man, God holds out an offer of forgiveness to those who would repent. Despite Noah’s preaching that in forty dauys and Ninevah would be overthrown, God like the prodigal’s father is forever hoping that men would repent and turn to him. Jonah knew this and therefore was reluctant to undertake the Journey. In Jonah 4:2 Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish; for I knew that Thou art a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness, and repentest of the evil In exploration of the Bible it is easily observed that many men and women were trouble by sexual lusts and I wondered whether God’s Grace was extended unto men like Reuben,. Who slept with his father’s wife, Judah who committed incest with his daughter-in-law, lot\s daughters who drugged their father and committed whoredom with him, Shechem who raped Tamar, David who committed murder and adultery, Zimri who Slept with Cozbi and Balaam who thought the children to commit fornication. Not to mention the strange woman in proverbs who set up a young man to be killed by her husband and Hophni and Phineas who were having sex with the women in the church. What kind of God is this who keeps “ mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin,” Ex. 34:7 and when and where sin abounds his grace does much more abound. This book is an investigation into the character of the thrice holy omnipotent God and how mortal man has benefitted from him.
