About Dr. Lionel L. Douglas
Dr. Lionel L. Douglas—affectionately known as Dr. D—is a retired academic whose mind is anything but on sabbatical. Now immersed in theological research, creative writing, and instructional design, he’s embarked on a journey to demystify moral complexity and reimagine sanctity for everyday believers. His upcoming works, Sex, Sin, and the Sanctuary, are bold in title and deep in truth—grounded in scripture, stirred by cultural insight, and served with a Trini twist.
Dr. D’s genius lies in blending scholarly rigor with spiritual relatability. He moves seamlessly from discussing Second Temple Jewish worldviews to riffing on calypso as a theological metanarrative, proving that holiness isn’t afraid of a little humor. Whether he's crafting serpent symbolism or moral taxonomies, his work dances between intellectual depth and pastoral warmth—offering clarity without condescension and conviction without shame.
With a flair for metaphor, an ear for Caribbean cadence, and a heart rooted in divine justice, Dr. D is not merely writing books—he’s inviting readers into sanctuary spaces where theology is felt, sung, and lived.
A Theologian in Calypso Time: A Portrait of Dr. Lionel L. Douglas
In the vibrant mosaic of Caribbean intellect, Dr. Lionel L. Douglas dances at the intersection of reverence and rebellion. A retired academic, but far from retired in spirit, he now crafts theological frameworks that sizzle with cultural resonance and pastoral heart. His words aren’t just scholarly—they are seasoned, stirred, and served on a Trini tasting menu: peppered with metaphor, rooted in scripture, and garnished with unapologetic humor.
Dr. D doesn’t preach from ivory towers—he limbos between pulpit and pan yard. He unpacks sexual ethics with the candor of a calypsonian and the clarity of a seasoned teacher, never losing sight of divine dignity. Whether he's riffing on serpent symbolism or layering sanctity with historical nuance, he makes theology feel alive, accessible, and deeply personal.
But beyond his work, he is a seeker—of meaning, of mischief, of moments that make heaven and humanity shake hands. When he laughs, even scripture seems to chuckle back. And when he speaks, there’s the kind of depth that makes skeptics lean in and saints straighten up.
In every conversation, Dr. Douglas is proof that holiness isn't humorless—and that intellectual rigor need not come at the cost of cultural rhythm.

What to expect
This is a meta narrative. A meta narrative is a story about
stories. We analyse the sex stories of the Bible - the succeses and the failures and note how God is weaving a greater story of his love, his greatness and his grace.
This site is called OhJudah, because Judah was one of the early failures with respect to sex - an example of how men struggle with sex. But God redeemed Judah and God blessed him so that Jacob declared "the scepter shall not depart from Judah nor a Law Giver from between his feet until Shiloh comes" as opposed to Reuben who was another sex failure but Jacob's words to Reuben were "thou shalt not excel". How does God decide whom to redeem and whom not. Delve into the unchangeable character of God and its incremental unfolding. There is enough here to keep your adrenalin pumpimg. As you may know, Reuben slept with his father's concubine and Judah slept with his daughter in law.
But we have other serious sexual aberrations, like David and Bathseba, Solomon and his 700 wives and 300 concubines, Sampson and Delilah, and the Corinthian Reuben. Yet it was always God's intention to bring all his people home to glory. Follow this intriguing story of sin, shame and salvation from the Garden to Golgotha.
